Minecraft skin converter: 64x32 to 64x64, Steve ↔ Alex, Java and Bedrock
Drop a skin PNG to convert it. Old 64x32 skins are moved to the current 64x64 layout, the arms can be switched between Steve (Classic, 4 px) and Alex (Slim, 3 px), and HD skins up to 512x512 work too. Download a 64x64 PNG for Minecraft Java or a .mcpack for Bedrock — the file is read in your browser and never uploaded.
How the skin converter works
Old 64x32 to 64x64
Skins made before Minecraft 1.8 are 64x32 and have no separate left arm and leg. They are moved into the 64x64 layout the way Minecraft does it: the left arm and leg become mirror copies of the right ones, ready to paint.
Steve to Alex and back
Alex (Slim) arms are 3 pixels wide and Steve (Classic) arms are 4. The converter detects which one your skin has; pick the other to switch. Going to Alex removes one column of each arm's front, back, top and bottom; going to Steve repeats the middle column, so the edges stay as you painted them.
Java or Bedrock
Java's launcher takes a 64x64 PNG, so HD skins are saved at 64x64 for Java. Bedrock gets a .mcpack skin pack (up to 128x128) with the right arm model set: open it and pick the skin in Dressing Room → Classic skins.
Keep editing
Open in editor loads the converted skin into the MC-ENGINE skin editor with the matching arms, so you can fix any detail by hand.
